ഈദ് മുബാറക് ഈദുല് ഫിത്തർ Eid Al-Fitr Eid Mubarak
During Eid al-Fitr, Muslims typically wake up early, dress in their finest clothing, and attend special prayers at their local mosque or Islamic center. After the prayer, they exchange greetings and gifts with family and friends and enjoy a festive feast.
It is important to note that the exact date of Eid al-Fitr may vary depending on the sighting of the new moon, as the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle. However, it typically falls on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.
As per the Islamic calendar, the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr in India is observed on the first day of Shawwal - the month that comes after Ramadan in the Hijri calendar ie. 22-04-2023. It occurs at the beginning of Shawwal, the next calendar month of the Islamic calendar. Saturday. In Saudi Arabia Muslims are celebrating Eid on April 21 as Shawwal crescent moon not sighted amid rare hybrid total solar eclipse. Oman announced Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, the religious holiday marking the end of Ramadan. In Australia, Sydney, Eid A-Fitr 2023 will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, and the first day of the month of Shawwal 1444 AH.
Per year there are two major Eids in the Islamic calendar. Eid al-Fitr earlier in the year is a three-day-long festival and is known as the “Lesser” or “Smaller Eid” and Eid al-Adha later which is four-days-long and is known as the “Greater Eid”.
Symbol of Ramadan is fanous lantern for the last hundreds of years. It represents the light guiding the way. During the holy month of Ramadan, streets are illuminated at night by colorful fanous lanterns.
Ramadan رَمَضَان, Ramaḍān, ra.ma.dˤaːn; also spelled Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan or Ramathan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer, reflection, and community. A commemoration of Muhammad's first revelation, the annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
Fasting from dawn to sunset is fard, obligatory, for all adult Muslims who are not acutely or chronically ill, travelling, elderly, breastfeeding, diabetic, or menstruating. The predawn meal is referred to as suhur, and the nightly feast that breaks the fast is called iftar. Although fatwas have been issued declaring that Muslims who live in regions with a midnight sun or polar night should follow the timetable of Mecca, it is common practice to follow the timetable of the closest country in which night can be distinguished from day.
The spiritual rewards, thawab, of fasting are believed to be multiplied during Ramadan. Accordingly, during the hours of fasting Muslims refrain not only from food and drink, but also tobacco products, sexual relations, and sinful behavior, devoting themselves instead to salat, prayer, and study of the Quran.
Any intimate activity is not allowed during the hours of fasting on Ramadan month. But husband and wife can able to kiss, hug, cuddle and have sex in the hours before fasting begins and after it ends. Islam doesn't allowed sexual relationships between un-married people and kissing in public places. Muslims must abstain from food, drink and sex while fasting.

It is important to note that not all cultures follow the Gregorian calendar in observing New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. For example the New Year in the Hindu, Chinese, Coptic, Jewish, Islamic calendars differ to that of the Gregorian calendar.
